The Company Retreat Was a Disaster and We Have the Group Chat to Prove It
What was supposed to be a team-building weekend in the mountains turned into a full HR investigation, two resignations, and a viral TikTok that has since been deleted — but not before 400K people saw it.
Sources inside the company describe the retreat as 'the worst 48 hours of my professional life.' The itinerary included trust falls, a ropes course, and an optional karaoke night that became, by all accounts, very much not optional.
By Saturday evening, the group chat — which had been created for 'logistics' — had devolved into something that HR is now describing as 'a significant documentation challenge.'
Three anonymous sources confirmed that the karaoke incident involved a senior manager, a song choice that 'nobody could believe,' and a moment that was captured on at least four phones before anyone thought to say something.
The company has not responded to our request for comment. The TikTok account that posted the clip has been deactivated. The retreat venue has reportedly declined to host the company again.
